In this music video, conventions were used to represent multiple things. For one the title of the music video was “2SEATER”. The title of the song allowed a connection for the audience on what the music video could possibly be about, which was friends enjoying time together even with a little conflict in the car in the beginning scene. The camera angles that were used in the video allowed a playful and high-spirited theme. We all did what related to our genre together. I studied the music videos that were also by Tyler, Creator, during the course of my research. My initial idea was that since Tyler, the Creator is such a well-known artist, I would be able to base our music video on his common trends. That idea ended up not being followed through due to Tyler having various crazy costumes and cool sets. Even though Tylers concepts were good, it wasn't a reasonable goal to achieve. We as a group didn't have a large budget to spend on costumes and sets and activities like Tyler usually does. We made the decision to just maintain the core of our relationships because of this. Companionship. Ultimately, instead of attempting to create a video about wealth, popularity, or luxurious lives, we chose to focus on our friendship even with the conflict in the beginning with the girls. A movie in which we talk to one another, laugh, eat, and generally enjoy each other's company. I had the impression from the study materials that the video would portray us as something we are not. I think that was a breath of fresh air that our film captured. The final product, in my opinion, is genuinely unlike anything you would see in a music video of the same genre, and that's what, in my opinion, makes it exceptional in its own right.
Making my video was an incredibly entertaining and unique experience. Our project was distinctive because of the inventive measures my group and I took, despite having a tight budget. We made the most of every resource we had, and our cars ended up being an essential part of the production, serving as the background for exciting, action-packed moments. As we moved the story along, our cars served as the backdrop for various scenes, including the opening monologue, moments through the sunroof, and hanging out of the window. This inventiveness not only demonstrated our dedication but also gave the video a unique and genuine charm. Just as enjoyable as the finished product was the recording process. The concept of the video, which was having fun and making silly memories with friends, perfectly captured the reality of our filming process. The fact that my friends were there made everything go very smoothly and, most importantly, I enjoyed. In the event that this video was to become professionally produced, I see it being posted on numerous websites. TikTok's trend-driven atmosphere would probably welcome the video's contagious energy. With its enormous viewership, YouTube would definitely be the main venue, offering the possibility of extensive publicity. Instagram snippets have the potential to increase viewer engagement and generate buzz for the main video. A professional music video's ultimate goal is to become viral, and since content can spread quickly on websites like YouTube, it's a great chance to accomplish this goal. The video is well-positioned for success across multiple digital platforms due to its unique blend of creativity, genuine fun, and relatability.
Throughout making this project, my production skills developed more and more along the way. Specifically, in directing and editing. My directing skills allowed my team to flourish and create the scenes they wanted. These directing skills also developed through the process, making the recording go smoother. My editing skills allowed the video to develop perfectly. My editing skills also evolved with it too, giving a smoother feel to the video. During this process I learned multiple things. I learned that picking a song is not easy when you have multiple people being included into a project. But I also learned that compromising with people is also key to having a smooth process. Doing my blogs gave a guideline and steps on making this whole music video. Planning blog for the music video was one of the most important parts of creating the video. It allowed me and my team to plan out the props being used, location, scheduling, the back-up plan and the costumes. Although some of these things were changed, these things gave my team a baseline for the video. The storyboard blogs also were also very helpful to me and my group. It allowed the group to draw out what they specifically wanted in their video. Specific scenes and the wordings that go with it. These
Different technologies that were implemented to this project were phones, computers, Technology online that was used were Capcut, YouTube, and Blogger. Phones were integrated into this project because this was the main thing that me and my team used to record, using the cinematic feature on the iPhone camera. Using a phone over an actual video camera was better for me and my team because it was much easier access. Especially since using an iPhone that me and my team already had was easier than going out of our way to purchase a new video camera. Computers were used to edit and transfer different pieces of media such as videos and audio from YouTube. Capcut was used to do the main edits for the project. Adding all the pieces of media to the Cap cut, and then using the transitions and animations that were already created through the app made the process go easy and fairly quickly, even when we added new media it was easy. YouTube was used to find the music videos and find a clean version as well due to the original sound having curse words in it. I used blogger because it was assigned by my teacher to blog perfectly. But also, it was fairly easy to track my progress for the blog. It also was easy access for my teachers.
